Another hit by this fantastic author! Olivia Pence and Dezz Casey both grew up in a small town in Iowa. Olivia is a word nerd with not many friends. Dezz Casey was also a nerd, you’d think they’d become friends, but all through school Dezz made fun of Olivia, always in competition with her. Olivia left for New York City to work for a magazine called Brillance, Dezz followed her. She didn’t know what to make of that. Dezz is looking a lot different from their school days when he was a skinny geek, he now was six foot of man candy. He’s such a pain in her butt, they’re always trying to up one another at work. The constant rivalry between them was getting to the boss and killing the atmosphere around the office. Their boss was sick of it and sent them on a two week journey to write about serendipitous things. Will their time away from each other ease their rivalry or flare up something else? The humor is off the wall in this book. Will the romance this author is known for creep into the story? These two characters are so much alike, they throw stones at each other constantly! Great read!
I can hear them: Into The Light by Darcia Helle
I really enjoyed this story! We have humor, romance and ghosts. The mystery is a murder, Max Paddington’s murder. Max was killed outside of Chili’s on the same day his wife Rachel asks for a divorce, coincidence? Max doesn’t think so. He hovers over his body and realizes no one can see him, he’s screaming to ask his wife about the murder. He feels a sizzle up his spine and sees his grandfather with his hand held out asking him to go into the light, Max explains why he can’t go yet, another sizzle and he’s in Joe Cavelli’s car, Joe is a sleuth, but Max doesn’t know that. When Joe hears Max they flip out. Max can’t figure out why Joe can hear him, but Joe’s not surprised. Can Joe help this clumsy ghost figure things out so he can go into the light? Read this book to find out, it’s hilarious. There is a message about life, don’t miss it.
You don’t get to choose who you fall in love with, it just happens. Arianna has been through way to much in her life. She lost the two most important men in her life, her father and her true love, Ben. Tristan has been there from day one, Bens brother and uncle to her son Ben Jr. I don’t know if you remember from the first book that Tristan has strong feelings foe Adrianna. His brother Ben was astute to Tristan’s feelings for his fiancé, he also knew he would never act on them. Arianna finds she also has feeling for Tristan, she thinks it’s because she’s come to rely on him so much because of Ben. They both went through a lot together when Ben told them he was dying and after his death. Are Arianna’s feelings true or is she just feeling dependent on Tristan. When Tristan tries to go on with his life, Arianna makes a horrifying discovery about Tristan. Read this awesome story to find out if their able to be just friends.
Ben Fielding, a workaholic is recovering from a work accident that almost took his life, his so called girlfriend left during this time, he thought they had something, but when he needed her the most she fled. Then there’s Arianna Ferria who is doing what she dreamed of, owning her own art gallery, also burned by her boyfriend. As Ben is healing he decides to go to Arianna’s art gallery. Ben finds Arianna very attractive, he has a bad headache and Arianna comes to his aide. They really hit it off, both falling for each other fast and hard. Ben is keeping a secret from Arianna and his brother Tristan whom is very close to him. Tristan is also falling for Arianna, feeling awful about this he stays away from them as much as possible. Arianna and Tristan have a lot in common. I’ve said enough! You have to read this book to find out what happens with this trio. I’ll tell you I was in tears reading this book! Grab a box of tissues!
The Wild Rose Press has done something sweet for Christmas this year with the Twelve Brides of Christmas series – they’ve taken the twelve individual stories and divided them into four volumes with three stories in each.
The Twelve Brides of Christmas series is loosely based on the English Christmas carol the Twelve Days of Christmas. Each author was given a day from the song and wrote a story pertaining to that day.
For volume one:
Jan Romes – Big on Christmas (Partridge in a pear tree)
Barbara Edwards – Late for the Wedding (Two turtle doves)
Fleeta Cunningham – Till the World is Safe For Dreams (Three French hens)
Blurb for Big on Christmas:
Cassie New left L.A. with a secret and finds herself in Woodstock, VT – a town rich with Christmas tradition. She tries to forget the world she knew but the small-town charm makes her even more aware of the life she never had.
Luke Stennett doesn’t have time for relationships. Things are starting to go right but he has a secret of his own that could possibly turn everything upside down.
Once their secrets are revealed, will it kill the chemistry and send Cassie back to L.A. or will she fight for her happiness and stay firmly planted in a place big on Christmas?
Blurb for Late for the Wedding:
Despite an impending nor’easter, Heather Green sets out for her twin sister’s wedding with the dress, cake, and favors. As the snow piles up, she wrecks her car in an accident.
Driving a tow truck, Nicholas Burnes has the task of helping Heather. When the storm closes the roads he ends up offering her shelter. Warm and rested, Nick and Heather explore their attraction for each other, only to part when he delivers her to her sister’s wedding. But weddings breed weddings…
Blurb for Till the World is Safe for Dreams:
Dreams were put on hold when the bombs hit Pearl Harbor, including Kay and Jeremy’s wedding plans. Now he’s half a world away, and Kay is spending her days in a war plant, forging bonds with other women who worry and wait. Then she receives news that Jeremy has life threatening injuries. Will he come back? If he does, will he be the same? Will the world ever be safe for dreams?
