This author totally pulled off a play on the children’s fairytale we all read. I knew there’d be a twist but dam. Poor Cinderelleper feared worse in this tale, she has leprosy!! The stepmother didn’t have it bad in the regular story, this one she gets her due!!! I always wanted her to get hers!! It’s funny, sad and absurd, that’s what makes it a cool read. It’s different, not serious or sappy. I Applaud the author for catching my attention. I gave five stars because this is this author’s genre, he’s awesome at it!!!!!
Can people change: A Time To Tell by Maria Savva
So many families can resonate with this book. Can people change? Can families mend? The circa from 1950’s Cara’s teen years ( the main character) to now her golden years. We read how events within a family shapes others futures within the family. Domestic abuse is a horrible thing for families to go through. My heart was broken many times reading this. Cara has lived through a broken heart since her teen years. The secrets she kept, the secrets her sister Gloria kept shaped their families for generations. Download and find out what the characters teach us. Full of realistic characters, a page turner for sure.
Cinderella never had it so bad. In this darkly comedic retelling of the classic fairy tale, her woes become worse when she discovers she has leprosy. Being chosen as the prince’s bride seems more unlikely than ever, but in a world where everything is turned upside-down, Cinderelleper, as she’s now called, just might have a chance at a happy ending after all.
Cinderelleper is a scathing satire that mockingly combines elements of the sentimental 1950 Walt Disney animated film with the gruesomeness of the Grimm Brothers original tale. Outlandish plot twists take the story beyond parody and into a realm that is both dark and magically absurd.
Sometimes the only way to truly start over is to move. That’s exactly what Elaina Samuels and her unruly band of cohorts decided to do. Elaina, Tawny, Grace, and Steph bought a bed and breakfast in Maine. The trip from Cherry Ridge, Ohio to Portland is a wild and crazy ride, filled with things they never could have foreseen. In this adventure, there\’92s laughter, tears, doubt, and a little danger thrown in to keep them on their toes. Will this relocation to the northeast be the key to real happiness? Or will it test their friendship to the breaking point?
I’m so glad the author continued this series! It makes me feel good reading about these ladies. Elaina, Tawny, Grace and Steph met in a pawn shop, all them doing the same thing, getting rid of their wedding rings. This author writes a humorous, adventurous, loving friendship story that’ll have you loving these ladies. They go through ups and downs of relationships and everyday life with help from each other and sangria. The things these ladies get their selves into, and how the manage the situation at times will have you laughing. The chapter titles are hilarious, they make you want to read the next chapter. Download this series, this is the second book, and laugh and bite your nails waiting to see what’s happening next. Their strong characters with everyday situations, but they have each other. I’d love a trio of friends like these.
When Ben told me he was coming out with a new book I couldn’t wait to read it. I’ve read all of Ben’s poetry and story books, this one is worth the waiting. It’s about the world and the people of today. Drugs, murder, suicide, love and the worlds problems. I loved the story poem, “The Nights End”. Ben also collaborated with a few authors, a sweet surprise. Ford Forkum(love his work) and Susie Clevenger, another great poet. Take the time and download this awesome poetry book.
I can’t even fathom going through this!!! That said: What a scary, twisting, outrageous read!! Totally came out at a great time with Halloween coming up. It all happens in London, for some reason that’s a great place for this story to take place. The characters are strong and what they go through makes them stronger. You will think differently about “spiders” when your done with this book. Every book I’ve read from this author is better and better. I think this is her best fantasy, phycological thriller yet!
