Together We’re strong: “Sipping Sangria” by Jan Romes

image

I’m so glad the author continued this series! It makes me feel good reading about these ladies. Elaina, Tawny, Grace and Steph met in a pawn shop, all them doing the same thing, getting rid of their wedding rings. This author writes a humorous, adventurous, loving friendship story that’ll have you loving these ladies. They go through ups and downs of relationships and everyday life with help from each other and sangria. The things these ladies get their selves into, and how the manage the situation at times will have you laughing. The chapter titles are hilarious, they make you want to read the next chapter. Download this series, this is the second book, and laugh and bite your nails waiting to see what’s happening next. Their strong characters with everyday situations, but they have each other. I’d love a trio of friends like these.

Sleeping With Earth by Ben Ditmars #review @benditty

imageWhen Ben told me he was coming out with a new book I couldn’t wait to read it. I’ve read all of Ben’s poetry and story books, this one is worth the waiting. It’s about the world and the people of today. Drugs, murder, suicide, love and the worlds problems. I loved the story poem, “The Nights End”. Ben also collaborated with a few authors, a sweet surprise. Ford Forkum(love his work) and Susie Clevenger, another great poet. Take the time and download this awesome poetry book.

Creepy: The Spider by @Maria_Savva #review

imageI can’t even fathom going through this!!! That said: What a scary, twisting, outrageous read!! Totally came out at a great time with Halloween coming up. It all happens in London, for some reason that’s a great place for this story to take place. The characters are strong and what they go through makes them stronger. You will think differently about “spiders” when your done with this book. Every book I’ve read from this author is better and better. I think this is her best fantasy, phycological thriller yet!

The imagination soars: “People Are Strange” #bookreveiw

I only have a photo for the cover, I’m not a writer: This is my review:

Imagine a book when you look at a picture and your imagination runs wild with stories about what you see. That’s this series! Awesome photography, poems and stories written by several superior authors! I’ve read every book in this series, each one had new authors to get to know. There’s weird stories that make your mind think. Sci-fi that’ll show a glimpse into the authors mind, down right chilling stories, don’t forget the amazing poetry by two amazing poets, the photography that inspired these stories. You really should try one of these books, their worth the money and totally worth your time. This is one of my favorite books in this series. I think it makes a good Halloween read.

Enemy, Friend, Lover? Wild Goose Chase by Jan Romes

Another hit by this fantastic author! Olivia Pence and Dezz Casey both grew up in a small town in Iowa. Olivia is a word nerd with not many friends. Dezz Casey was also a nerd, you’d think they’d become friends, but all through school Dezz made fun of Olivia, always in competition with her. Olivia left for New York City to work for a magazine called Brillance, Dezz followed her. She didn’t know what to make of that. Dezz is looking a lot different from their school days when he was a skinny geek, he now was six foot of man candy. He’s such a pain in her butt, they’re always trying to up one another at work. The constant rivalry between them was getting to the boss and killing the atmosphere around the office. Their boss was sick of it and sent them on a two week journey to write about serendipitous things. Will their time away from each other ease their rivalry or flare up something else? The humor is off the wall in this book. Will the romance this author is known for creep into the story? These two characters are so much alike, they throw stones at each other constantly! Great read!

Believe: “Solem” by Clive Johnson

I’m glad Clive didn’t change his way of writing with this new book, still using old tongue language. Clive’s style of writing draws me in, I haven’t read another author like him. I’m glad I got the paperback to read poolside as it added to the spookiness of the book, I’m surrounded by woods. Janeen had to leave her village because she had a demon in her, she stayed longer than most children with a demon in them by bewitching the villagers. She didn’t know this, but her father and a friend did. There came a day when her dad knew it was time for her to leave, she was seventeen then. I wonder if the parents know what happens to the children they send away? Luckily she has Sharman, Craith and Dwelgefa. They realize this isn’t a normal case, so the journey begins through the countryside, up rivers and through dense forest. I can visualize the countryside because the description the author writes is so clear I got the goose bumps running up my arms and legs at times. This book is full of mystery, adventure, demons and a little romance. The characters I came to look forward to being with each time I opened the book will be missed. I took the journey, felt the fear, adrenaline and faith with the characters and their creator. You should to! Clive never disappoints, I’ve read his Dica series which blew me away also. This author is one of the best story tellers of the written word. He makes maps to help you visualize the countryside he’s writing about and his drawing blow my mind. Don’t miss out, take the journey!

I can Hear them: Into The Light By Darcia Helle

I can hear them: Into The Light by Darcia Helle
I really enjoyed this story! We have humor, romance and ghosts. The mystery is a murder, Max Paddington’s murder. Max was killed outside of Chili’s on the same day his wife Rachel asks for a divorce, coincidence? Max doesn’t think so. He hovers over his body and realizes no one can see him, he’s screaming to ask his wife about the murder. He feels a sizzle up his spine and sees his grandfather with his hand held out asking him to go into the light, Max explains why he can’t go yet, another sizzle and he’s in Joe Cavelli’s car, Joe is a sleuth, but Max doesn’t know that. When Joe hears Max they flip out. Max can’t figure out why Joe can hear him, but Joe’s not surprised. Can Joe help this clumsy ghost figure things out so he can go into the light? Read this book to find out, it’s hilarious. There is a message about life, don’t miss it.
