My review of “Encounter” by Douglas Wickard

On the outside everything seems normal “Encounter”( FBI Agent Dan Hammer) By Douglas Wickard

A perfect life, a perfect wife and children, that’s what Alex’s life was like, or was it? Alex and Rhonda Kitas seemed to be that couple who had it all. Alex thought his life was doomed from the beginning, he had a celebrity father who had secrets that Alex wasn’t suppose to know about. Alex knew about those secrets. Alex worked for a network and took trips often, this trip to San Francisco was going just like any other trip he took. Rhonda was doing her usual, walking the kids to school in the morning after Alex got in a cab to go to the airport. She was happy in her life with Alex and the kids, or was she? She always got calls from Alex like clockwork, so when she didn’t receive her usual call that morning from Alex, she started to worry. There are so many twist and turns in this well written mystery thriller that you must read for yourself. The author does a wonderful job keeping your attention with strong characters and well thought out action. I’ll be reading more from this author.

Not good enough for heaven but not bad enough to burn, Kylie has a slight problem. She’s dead and trapped between the realms.

Left with no options, she follows Detective Liam Stone on the hunt for her killer. Death has left Kylie invisible but does nothing to dampen her desire for the sexy detective. Instead, it gives her the freedom to do as she pleases with his body, and what a delicious body it is.

Liam’s determined to solve Kylie’s case but as the clues uncover an underground world of demonic torture and pacts, Liam must face his own secrets or the flames of passion won’t be the only ones the couple will have to face.

Inside Scoop: Parts of this tale are graphically violent, but other parts might leave you drooling for a ghost or a demon of your own. Look out for the brief but hot F/F scenes in the bedroom and the shower.

A Romantica® horror erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

She died on this corner. It seemed strange it would be right here where she caught the bus each morning and evening. She couldn’t recall why she had been there at that exact time but it didn’t change the outcome. She was dead.
She had been brought up to believe things would be different when this day came. There would be light, trumpets…peace. Kylie had none of those things. Instead, she stood looking down at her lifeless body in shock. Maybe this is what happens when you’re murdered. That thought lingered on the outer rim of her disbelief.
“At least my nails still look good,” she said tilting her head to get a better look at the rounded pink tips she’d gotten done the day before. At her statement, the man hovering over her empty shell lifted her hand from the ground and inspected her nails.
“It doesn’t look as if she tried to defend herself.”
No shit Sherlock, she thought with a roll of her eyes. She craned her neck attempting to get a better look at the man’s face. He was big and rugged looking, as if he hadn’t shaved in at least a week. The beginnings of a dark beard covered his chin but in a harsh contrast to his dark hair, his eyes were a light blue almost exactly the same shade as the sky. He was a sexy one she realized with a pang of regret for the life she had lost.
“Thank God I wore my good panties.”
He lifted her skirt. “Underwear’s still in place. She doesn’t appear to have been raped.”
“Put that down you dirty little bastard. Sheesh! Who is this guy?” He dropped the material and smoothed it down over her knees. It was a sad day when a girl ended up murdered on a street corner and couldn’t even hold onto her modesty afterward. Damn, why hadn’t someone as sexy as him wanted to check out her girly bits while she’d still been able to enjoy it? Typical.

People aren’t what you think, even in the Realm of Dica: ” An Artist’s Eye” by Clive Johnson

Prescinda is leaving Grayden and her marriage. She’s looking forward to going home to Blisteraising to be with her sister and Falmeard. Nephril surprises Prescinda with his arrival, he tells her of talk of a new distant city. Prescinda doesn’t believe him until he says Falmeard has heard of this distant city also and is meeting up with them on their way there. Prescinda is curious and joins Nephril instead of taking the coach ride home. What I love about this book is the characters are stronger and stay true to themselves throughout the journey. Nephril knows they need to find out more about the distant city and what it could mean to the Realm of Dica. We find out about different nationalities within the Realm that Prescinda has strong opinions about, she surprises me with her attitude, but she’s still one of my favorite characters. This book shows a different side to the Realm of Dica. One of my favorite lines is: “Telling time by the sun’s celestial arch”.The ending is one of my favorite ones of all 5 books. The sisters surprise me! There’s so many twist and turns that only Clive can tell with his poetic way of story telling. You can tell Clive lived in the Realm during writing this story. It’s a very well written series. You’ll need to use his awesome maps and a dictionary to help you through this different language that only Clive can write and get you excited about reading. I recommend you read this series. The book covers bring you in and the writing blows you away. Take the journey!

Sexy Vampires, ghosting, werewolves!!” Where Will You Turn” By ME. Franco

This is the third book in the Dion series, this book rocked! Raith, Mari and the team have to take on Alieana and the top Dion. They have enough evidence that Alieana is killing humans and selling them and that breaks all the rules. Even thou she was Raiths lover once and saved him, she had to be stopped. She brought back Wraiths and nelapsi to hurt Mari, Reinn and the gang. That’s when the game got real! The werewolves joined their team because Alieana had some of their pack under her spell. Of course we know that werwolves and Vampires don’t get along, there are many surprises, I don’t want to give it all away. The author doesn’t disappoint! I totally recommend this series! I want more!!!

Close Call: A Doris& Jemma Vadgeventure

This book is absolutely hilarious!! This is a different genre for this author. I’ve read her dragon books and they were AWESOME! This took me by surprise, I’m so glad she wrote it.Talking vaginas and penis, with names! You read right, talking parts. All Jemma and Erin wanted were good men, they went out to clubs all the time. A part of this book makes me sad, because it’s so hard to find a good man. That said, this had me laughing my butt off. Will Jemma and Erin find their men? I’m telling you this book is a fresh read. I totally recommend this book.

Ballet school or horror school. Black Adagio by Wendy Potocki

Melissa had a hard life at home, introduced to ballet, she worked tirelessly and drowned out home life. All her hard work paid off, she was accepted into the Velofsky School of Ballet. It’s going to be hard, but Melissa has worked for this opportunity. On the train ride there, she went back and forth stressing about if she would make it being a ballet dancer. She knew she had one important move still to master, the Adagio! She arrives at school and meets her roommate, we all know how stressful that can be. She settles in and meets Todd, who is a police officer. Melissa May need Todd’s help because ballet dancing isn’t all that’s going on at the Velofsky School of Ballet. You’ll have to download the book to find out what happens. I’m impressed with this author, you can tell she’s done a lot of research and that she loves ballet. I will be reading more of Wendy Potocki’s work.
